By joining forces with the association ‘Acteurs du Tourisme Durable’, the ISTO World Congress 2018 adopts an eco-responsible approach, thanks to two strong actions : an environmental etiquette and voluntary carbon offsetting.
The environmental lunch label of Betterfly Tourism
The environmental label, born from the Grenelle de l’Environnement, aims to provide transparency to conference participants on the environmental impacts of the products and services they will eat at lunchtime. For the Domaine Lyon Saint-Joseph, venue of the congress, it is also a way to enhance its environmental commitment. The label will be highlighted on each table with a description in French and English, while the method will be explained to the participants by the Betterfly Tourism team.
Voluntary carbon offset of the congress by EcoAct
The ISTO World Congress, thanks to the expertise of its partner EcoAct, is committed to measuring and offsetting its carbon footprint. The data collected from the participants after the congress, relating to the means of transport, the distances traveled or the selected accommodations, will allow to calculate the carbon footprint of the event. Delegates will be invited to vote for the compensation project of their choice, making the congress a carbon-neutral event.
